A Third Round of Stimulus Payments is On its Way

Please remember that eligibility, the amount you will receive, and where and when your payment will be made is determined by IRS, and not Foothill.

The federal government has authorized economic stimulus payments of up to $1,400 for individuals or $2,800 for married couples, plus $1,400 for each dependent as part of a recent coronavirus relief package.

The first batch of payments will be sent by direct deposit, starts as early as March 12, 2021. Additional batches of payments will be sent in the coming weeks by direct deposit and through the mail as a check or debit card. The form of payment for your third stimulus payment may be different than the first or second. People who received a paper check previously may receive a debit card this time and vice versa.

If you expect to receive your stimulus payment via direct deposit, please know that your account will show a notification of a pending deposit prior to the funds being available. The notification will show the amount of the deposit and the availability date. This is not a Foothill hold on those funds. The availability date is the day Foothill will receive the funds from the federal government and post the deposit to your account for access.

If you are eligible for a stimulus payment, use the "Get My Payment" tool to see if a payment has been issued and whether the payment was sent via direct deposit or mail.

Depositing Your Check

If you expect to receive your check by mail, we encourage you to use our mobile check deposit feature within our Mobile Banking app. No need to step into a Foothill branch. Download our app if you don't have it yet.

Beware of Scams

Needless to say, watch out for scams relating to stimulus payments. Don’t give out your personal or bank account information to anyone, even if they claim it’s related to your economic impact payment. And don’t click on links from email senders you don’t recognize. Always go directly to the IRS website to get updates, and watch your mailbox for official correspondence.

Beware of the following stimulus check scams:

  • Fake Stimulus Checks. There are fake checks circulating right now. The first wave of electronic direct deposits are coming in right now with the paper checks arriving much later by mail. If you receive any checks now, it is a fraud. Telltale signs are checks written in odd amounts or include cents, or a check that requires you to verify receipt online or by calling a number.
  • Social media, phone calls, or text messages claiming to get in touch with you. Scammers are reaching out to people online on social media platforms or by sending text messages with claims they are from the IRS or other government agency and are trying to get in touch with you regarding your stimulus check. Ignore/Delete these messages. The U.S. Government will never reach out to you via any social media platform or by text.
  • Scammers pose as a government agency and will send a link to this website or something similar for you to verify personal information. The government does not do this. The government already has the information they need and will not reach out to you for verification of your social security number or other personal identification.
  • Processing Fee. Scammers pose as the IRS or other government agency claiming you can receive your stimulus check faster if you pay a processing fee. There is no such thing and there is no way to speed up the IRS payment process.
  • The IRS will never call or email you to verify any personal information. This includes your social security number, bank account number, or anything that allows access to your identity. As soon as you receive a call or email saying they are from the IRS or U.S. Treasury, hang up or delete it. These scammers are professional criminals and will use a variety of methods to steal your personal identification and your money.

Foothill will never ask for your personal information over texts or emails or send you links that ask for such. Avoid opening attachments or clicking on links from senders you don’t recognize.

Also, remember that Foothill will never ask for your personal information over the phone, unless you are expecting a return call from a Foothill representative. For unsolicited calls, ask for the name of the company and phone number, then check a valid source to verify that number. You can always call back once you’ve verified the legitimacy of the call.

Branch Information

Please Note: Shared Branching Service is not available for non-members at this time.

All Foothill branches remain open at this time and no changes to our business hours have been made. As a precaution, we will be limiting the number of members inside our branches at one time.

We will continue to closely monitor the impact of the coronavirus and take in regard the recommendations set forth by the Centers for Disease Control.

Health and Safety First

We have increased the frequency of cleaning and sanitation at all of our branch facilities, especially in high-touch areas. Foothill promotes social distancing and proper hygiene habits to maintain a healthy workplace and requires that any team member displaying flu-like symptoms indicating the possibility of the Coronavirus work remotely or stay at home.

Preventive Measures Taken:

  • Protective face covering is a must. All staff and members inside our branches must comply with the LA County face covering mandate or they will be asked to return with one
  • Limiting the number of members allowed inside our branches to prevent crowding
  • Continuous sanitizing of our branches inside as well as our ATMs outside throughout the day
  • Markers placed at our branch teller lines to indicate proper safe distance
  • Plexiglass barriers installed at areas where member and team member interaction takes place
  • Some team members continue to help and service our members, from the safety of their homes

Operating Hours

  • All three branches will be open Monday – Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm, but temporarily closed on Saturdays
  • Our Contact Center will be available Monday – Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm, and on Saturdays from 9 am – 1 pm

Your Money is Safe With Us

We want to assure our members that your money is safe with us. Foothill has the financial strength and plans in place to endure tough times like this. Also, don't forget your deposits are insured by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund, up to at least $250,000 per individual depositor.
